Here is all the equipment that the apprentice uses when she is cutting and styling hair. Each student has a mobile work station like this. Apprentices go to the College for four years. At the end of four years if they have passed all their examinations they can work in a salon or start a salon of their own. Most new graduates go to work in an already established salon and continue their study in the area of 'running a small business'.
Do you have a journeyman and master craftsman certificate which we have here in Sweden?
ReplyDeleteIn a way we do. The salon owner is expected to provide a lot of guidance to the apprentice and also assess their work. The school also assesses their theory and practical in the school.We do not have a certificate for the master craftsman in Australia. What do you have to do before you become a master craftsman in Sweden?
