Here is a part of our reception where we have an exhibition of the work of the students. We also have a stylist-program, and some of the pictures are from the work of these students. Students are encouraged to keep a portfolio of their work.

This is our receptionist to the left and one of the teachers. People can cut their hair at our program, In their first years the students use models and dolls to practice their skills.  In the second year they practice on paying customers

This student is doing this for the first time. As you see it is a tricky process. The student here is pressing the top foil on the foils underneath.

Here you see the students during a class. They are in their first year. They have been instructed about how to apply tips in hair. This is the first time they have had done this. They are using conditioner and not hair colour.

As you see our facilities are very nice. Our building was renovated summer 2011.

This is the location of the Hairdressing program, a specialization of the Handicraft program in upper secondary education. The program is three years long. Most students start when they are 16. They have an exam. Some will work as hair stylists, some will go on as a hairdressing trainee and then get a trade certificate. You need 2500 hours training in the workplace before you can do your trade certificate test. Our hairdressing program has about 300 students totally.

Here  is Burgården Educational Centre, the school where I do my practicum. It is a large school with about 1500 students in the centre of Gothenburg. There are different programs in upper secondary education and also some  courses in adult education.
