Wow. I love this dress . What a clever student. In Australia our students are given projects like your students and they come up with some fantastic designs. What sort of directions did you give to your students before they began their designs?
At first I looked up different buildings to let them choose from. They worked in groups of three students and then they had free hands to make, in this case a dress in "tissue paper". They thought it was a really nice task to do.
I also liked this dress, maybe because I live near Malmö... What did she do whith the dress after the lesson? Did she just throw it away or did she show it for some other students?
What do students do after this kind om textile education? Do they find jobs or do they go on to some high qualified design school in the town of Borås - our textile center in Sweden?

ReplyDeleteAll the dresses (and the coat) was shown at an exhibition for four weeks, then they threw them away.
ReplyDeleteI like that way to teach...i´m sure that the students least a lot from that kind of inspiration.

Yes Ingemar, most of the students go on to a further education. We do have a lot of nice textile programs at the University in Borås.
